Wine AdvocateCakebread Cellars has turned in an attractive 2013 Merlot (95% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon) that shows nice bluish/plum color to the rim, sweet blue and black fruits, good acidity, a fresh, medium-bodied mouthfeel, excellent concentration and an endearing and charming finish. The wine is slightly compact, which keeps it from getting higher ratings, but it's well-made.
