Henschke
Deep crimson in colour. A sweet complex bouquet of violets, cassis, cedar, tar and hints of anise, plums, herbs and bacon. The palate is generous and ripe with blueberry pie and subtle hints of herbs and rosemary. Rich and juicy with fleshy textured fruits, excellent depth and concentration; very complex with layers of fine-grained velvety tannins.
Wine Advocate
The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Cyril Henschke (65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 15% Merlot) exhibits a Bordeaux-like austerity as well as aromas and flavors of tobacco smoke, licorice, spice box, red currants, black currants, and sweet cherries. With an elegant, bright, zesty personality, it will drink well for 7-8 years.
