Treana
The 2005 vintage of Treana Red has a deeply extracted, ruby hue and displays up-front aromas of ripe, dark fruit and exotic spice. Rich, explosive flavours of mulberry and plum are complemented by enticing mocha, tobacco and toasted oak notes. Depth and power come from the Cabernet, while a Syrah component lends inviting fleshiness. The wine's full mouthfeel leads to a silky, lasting finish. Luxurious and well-balanced now, the 2005 Treana red will continue to increase in nuance and elegance over the next 10-12 years.
Wine Enthusiast
Quietly, under the radar, Treana’s red blend is turning into an interesting and exciting wine over every vintage. The ’05, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, shows Paso Robles terroir at its best. The wine is soft, but no softer than a cult Napa Cab, and enormously rich in currant, licorice, chocolate, smoky oak and cinnamon spice flavors that are just delicious. Best now and for a few years.
