Crown Royal Special Reserve is aged longer that most whiskies. The additional aging gives this blend more richness, more mellowness, more complexity. Special Reserve has more rye whisky and batch base whisky than other blends. The additional rye gives it more spicy, nutty top notes, while the extra batch base increases its creamy smoothness.
